Cancer Funding Update

Overall Federal funding for pediatric cancer research has been poor and worsening over the last decade, falling by 30% in inflation-adjusted dollars.
This year’s budget requires an additional substantive cut and is predicted to be even worse in the next budget cycle.

Within the National Cancer Institute, there is no planned investment in new programs for children that take advantage of the latest breakthroughs and technologies, while tens of millions of dollars in new investment will be directed towards adult cancers.
